I did like the way this story was structured, jumping from one sister's narration to the other's, but I found it a little confusing that there were also jumps in time, without the reader really being told. Sometimes there were multiple flashbacks in one chapter, all happening at different time periods, and different people were having these flashbacks. Growing up the twins were incredibly close despite having completely different personalities.

The brand new thriller from the bestselling author of The Teacher. This author has the ability to describe the setting so that you feel you are there or you wish you were. One thing Viola reflects on towards the end of the book really stuck with me: Instructions for a Heatwave. But due to the strength of the fhe voices you are never left too confused The Twins are Isolte and Viola.
Where this book falls short is the erratic use of flashbacks. I feel like I get a more rounded picture in my head.

Both Viola and Isolte narrate parts of the story; it is often difficult to discern who is doing the telling.

Reading this as an e-book meant there was no knowing how much of the story was left. But it was extremely confusing and did not work. See if you have enough points for this item. Isolte's chapters are the present-day story and are in third person; Zaskia chapters, in first person and told from the depths of her illness, reveal the story of the past. The twins mother would not tell tne twins who their father was.
Sarginson, I read, has twin daughters, so she'll know her stuff. Gripping - a twist filled thriller.
This fantastic debut novel was chosen as part of the Richard and Judy Autumn Reads forwhich is where it caught my eye. What Sarginsln thought was going to be a simple coming of age story later became such a tragedy.
